12/19/21:  Please read a few testimonials from listeners!

We just wanted to invite you to read the words of a few of our listeners from the last few years.  We wanted you to hear some of the kinds of stories we hear from those who have been touched by the Lord through the broadcast - which you, through partnership and prayer, have made possible.  Please rejoice with us in the lives of these, and countless others.  And please keep us in your consideration and prayers as we head into 2022!

Ron Mehl Jr

"I attended Beaverton Foursquare for 23 years.  [Pastor Ron] was a special kind of man who had a particular way to share his faith in Jesus with so many others.  His gentle way of sharing the gospel would speak straight into my heart.  Christianity is a hard faith to maintain in this world.  We are so busy trying to survive in a harsh social environment while maintaining the principles and economies of Christ Jesus that it is hard to see how anyone can be saved except by Grace.  Forgiveness is a hard thing for man to grasp especially when there is so much to forgive.  I pray that the Holy Spirit will be able to cleanse and purify hearts…"

"I think you might be interested in the story behind our getting in touch with you. When my husband, ["K"] and I were both living in the valley and employed, he was a finish carpenter working mostly in new construction homes. He would always listen to Ron Mehl's messages [when they were on] at 9 a.m. every day! You might say he listened to Ron "religiously" (a little humor there). Throughout the day, he would listen to a variety of music radio stations, including rock, country and pop, but 9:00 a.m. was ALWAYS [Pastor Ron]. Your dad's messages were a huge influence at a time when ["K"] was searching for knowledge and closeness with his newfound belief. A few days ago, I was reading one of my morning devotionals and it referenced Ron Mehl's book God Works the Night Shift about Joe Knapp, which started ["K"] and me talking about Ron and whether or not those messages might be available. We're happy to know they are!"

"I had just got out of the Marine Corps. Went to church in boot camp a few times but really just to get away from the drill instructors. I met a woman back home in Oregon and she suggested that we go to beaverton foursquare. It was the second or third sermon I heard from Pastor Ron. All I know is the Holly Spirit hit me like a ton bricks. On the way home I had to pull over. I couldn't stop crying. I was a instrument of death, a Marine. I never cried about anything. After that sermon I felt convicted. The reality of who I was, made plain. I went to hear Pastor Ron ever since. I never spoke to him personally but I could tell that the hand of the Living God was on him…"

"I hardly ever miss a message whether it is on KPDQ or through Heart of the Word online. I am so blessed by [Pastor Ron's] timely messages. Sometimes his message will be exactly what the Lord had been telling me personally and his message just confirms. At least twice the message that came on was something I had read that morning in my daily bible reading, so exciting when your dads message was what I was hearing the same"

"The program means a lot to us for many years. I've been able to share it with the care giver who comes fives days a week to help with our daughter. She is a Believer, but comes from a rough backgrounds to say the least. May the the Lord use the broad cast to feed us both. Never met [Pastor Ron] but have been a listener for more years than I can remember..😉"

"Although I have never met [Pastor Ron],  I have admired him the last 20 years since a member of your church had me listen to an online message.  Although I have attended phenomenal churches and admire some great teachers, [Pastor Ron] has been my favorite pastor to listen to. I frequently listen to his daily messages during the commute, at my desk or during a workout. I appreciate how his love for the Lord is tangible for the listener to grasp and see.  Our seven kids have grown up knowing if we are playing a sermon during the mealtime,  I will choose Pastor Ron Mehl over the infamous Chuck Swindoll, Francis Chan or John Pipers.  Your father has been a blessing and a man I highly admire."

"We so appreciated [Pastor Ron] and the faithfulness he had to speaking the truth even if it was hard to hear. We want this generation to hear the Word and pray that the Holy Spirit uses it to make a difference in their lives."

"I wanted to share one other story with you.  This past week I was working nights at the ICU in [Local Portland Area Hospital] - I rotate between day and night shifts there.  I took care of a gentleman who was nearing the end of his life and extremely fearful of it, and in our discussion the focus turned eventually to his faith.  You'd think this would happen all the time, but truthfully it often doesn't- particularly as patients/family are often not receptive and providers (including myself) often feel awkward if the opportunity/setting doesn't seem quite right. In this case, he brought up that he was a Christian, but doesn't go to church much these days.   As we talked he opened up more and mentioned that he used to go to [Beaverton Foursquare] every week when your dad was pastor- specifically, he said "Ron Mehl was my guy."  I shared with him that I listen to his sermons almost daily, and his face brightened up almost instantly.  We talked for a while about what his messages meant to us, and at the end of it all, I think he was more joyful than he was scared.  I honestly think God provided that rare opportunity for both of us to speak candidly.  It was really special for me in particular, since I feel that our conversation helped him more than any medicine ever could (not at all a credit to me)- and in a manner far more meaningful.  It also made me especially grateful again for CM [Compassion Minstries/Heart of the Word Radio], since evidently your dad touched both of our lives enough that we could bond over this at a particularly vulnerable moment near the end of this man's life."
